Termal
Analysis Equipment
Apparatus
for Hot Modulus of Rupture (HMOR) tests
This furnace system was developed to investigate the hot modulus
of rupture of new refractory materials. The furnace has a maximum
temperature of 1600 °C. The gas tight design allows different
gas atmospheres to be used. The oxygen partial pressure is monitored
online through an oxygen sensor. A walking beam system is installed
so that 6 samples can be introduced simultaneously. The transport
of the samples is semi-automatic. All relevant process and experimental
data are registered by the software supplied with the system
and can be processed further by word processor software etc.

High
Temperature Viscosity and Corrosion
This special equipment combines the measurement of viscosity
of special glasses at high temperatures with the determination
of corrosion of refractory materials in contact with glass according
to the finger test method. The viscosimeter can be easily removed
and substituted by the unit for corrosion testing. The furnace
has a hearth that drives up and down which can also be rotated.
The speed of rotation can be varied continuously. The door in
front gives easy access to the furnace. This equipment combines
the investigation of two important material properties in one
efficient and cost effective equipment.

Hot
Flexural Strength (3-point) of SOFC ceramic plates
model: Split (SOFC: solid oxide fuel cell)
Testing furnace is designed for installation in an existing
testing machine. Features: Tmax: 1100 °C, 200 x 100 x 200 mm
(w x h x d) usable volume Very good temperature uniformity through
4-sided heating in spite of a 100 x 100 mm window in front.
The back wall is designed as a door. The furnace is split in
the vertical axis. Both halves can be slid outwards. 200 x 200
mm opening in the floor. Water cooled steel casing.

Contact
angle measurements at elevated temperatures
The study of surface chemistry is an increasingly important
aspect of analytical technology. The furnaces can also be designed
for operation under gas atmospheres.
Complete systems are offered in cooperation with the company
Data Physics GmbH.
